Welcome to the McCalla Lab at McGill University. Our research is focused on the design of new functional materials via high-throughput experiments. We are developing novel materials for a wide variety of battery technologies including cathodes and anodes for Li-ion batteries, cathodes for Na-ion batteries and solid electrolytes for all-solid-batteries.  Such research is of highest priority for immediate societal needs including the widespread implementation of electric vehicles as well as grid storage in support of intermittent renewable energy sources.  We also have diverse collaborations including combinatorial electrosynthesis, electronic transport in delafossites, and iron as a fuel source.
